In these Terms:
-
“Little Bees”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to LITTLE BEES (PTY) LTD.
-
“Customer”, “you” and “your” refer to any person accessing the website or purchasing products from Little Bees.
-
“Website” refers to littlebees.co.za.
-
“Product” refers to any product offered for sale through the Website.
By accessing the Website, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service and the policies referred to in them.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude any rights or remedies available under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or any other applicable South African law.
1. Business Information
The Website is owned and operated by:

2. Eligibility to Use the Website
By using the Website or placing an order, you confirm that:
-
You are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement; or
-
You are using the Website with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
If you place an order on behalf of another person or organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to act on their behalf.
3. Website Use
You may use the Website only for lawful personal or business purposes.
You must not:
-
Use the Website for fraudulent, unlawful or harmful purposes;
-
Provide false, misleading or incomplete information;
-
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, its systems or customer accounts;
-
Introduce viruses, malicious software or harmful code;
-
Interfere with the operation or security of the Website;
-
Copy, reproduce or commercially exploit Website content without permission;
-
Place orders using unauthorised payment details; or
-
Use automated systems to extract data from the Website without written permission.
Little Bees may restrict or suspend access to the Website where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.
4. Product Information
Little Bees takes reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, specifications and prices are accurate.
However:
-
Colours may appear differently depending on lighting, photography and screen settings;
-
Measurements may be subject to reasonable manufacturing tolerances;
-
Packaging may differ from the images displayed;
-
Minor product details may vary between production batches; and
-
Product availability may change without notice.
These variations will not ordinarily be considered defects unless the product is materially different from its description or representation.
Customers should review all available product information carefully before placing an order. If you require clarification about a product, please contact us before purchasing.
Little Bees may correct an obvious error in a product description, price or specification. If an error affects an order already placed, we will contact the customer before proceeding and provide any remedy required by law.
5. Product Availability
All products are subject to availability.
Placing a product in your shopping cart does not reserve that product. Availability is only confirmed once the order has been accepted by Little Bees.
If a product becomes unavailable after an order is placed, Little Bees will notify the customer and offer one of the following, as appropriate:
-
A suitable alternative accepted by the customer;
-
Store credit accepted by the customer; or
-
A refund of the amount paid for the unavailable product.
A customer will not be required to accept a substitute product or store credit where they are legally entitled to a monetary refund.
6. Imported Products
Certain products sold by Little Bees are sourced internationally and imported into South Africa.
Products may be ordered from an international supplier after a customer places an order through the Website. This means that a product may not be held as local stock at the time of purchase.
Estimated import, processing and delivery timeframes will be explained in our Shipping Policy or on the relevant product page.
International sourcing does not limit any rights or remedies available to customers under applicable South African law.
7. Orders and Order Acceptance
When you submit an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products subject to these Terms.
After an order is submitted, you should receive an electronic order acknowledgement. This acknowledgement confirms that we have received the order but does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.
Little Bees may decline or cancel an order before acceptance where:
-
The product is unavailable;
-
There is an obvious pricing or product-information error;
-
Payment cannot be authorised or verified;
-
We reasonably suspect fraud or unauthorised activity;
-
Delivery cannot reasonably be completed to the address provided;
-
The order breaches these Terms; or
-
We are legally prohibited from supplying the product.
If Little Bees declines or cancels an order after payment has been received, we will refund the applicable amount unless the payment is reasonably suspected to be fraudulent and must be handled differently under applicable law.
A binding sale is concluded when Little Bees confirms acceptance of the order or dispatches the product, subject to any rights that arise under applicable law.
8. Customer Information
Customers must provide complete and accurate information when placing an order, including:
-
Full name;
-
Contact number;
-
Email address;
-
Delivery address; and
-
Any information reasonably required to process payment and delivery.
The customer is responsible for checking this information before submitting the order.
If incorrect or incomplete information causes a delay, failed delivery or additional courier charge, the customer may be responsible for the reasonable additional cost, except where the error was caused by Little Bees.
Customers must notify us as soon as possible if their order or delivery information is incorrect. We cannot guarantee that information can be changed after an order has been processed or dispatched.
9. Prices and Payment
Unless otherwise stated:
-
Prices are displayed in South African rand;
-
VAT will be included where applicable;
-
Delivery charges will be displayed separately before checkout; and
-
Any other compulsory charges will be disclosed before the order is completed.
Little Bees will not hold a customer responsible for fees that were not adequately disclosed before purchase.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available at checkout.
By submitting payment details, you confirm that:
-
You are authorised to use the selected payment method;
-
The information provided is accurate; and
-
Sufficient funds or credit are available to complete the transaction.
Payments may be processed by an independent payment-service provider. Little Bees does not ordinarily receive or retain complete card details.
If payment is reversed, rejected or disputed without a valid reason, Little Bees may suspend fulfilment of the order and recover any amount lawfully due.
10. Pricing Errors
Little Bees takes reasonable care to display accurate prices. However, an obvious typographical, technical or system error may occasionally occur.
Where an incorrect price is displayed, Little Bees may contact the customer to:
-
Confirm whether they wish to proceed at the correct price; or
-
Cancel the affected order and receive a refund.
Little Bees will not rely on this provision to engage in misleading pricing practices or avoid honouring a legitimate advertised price where doing so would be contrary to applicable law.
11. Delivery
Delivery is governed by the Little Bees Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Delivery timeframes are estimates unless Little Bees expressly confirms a guaranteed delivery date in writing.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that someone is available to receive the order at the delivery address provided.
Ownership and risk in a product will pass in accordance with applicable South African law. Nothing in these Terms transfers the risk of loss or damage to the customer earlier than permitted by law.
12. Delays Outside Our Reasonable Control
Little Bees may experience delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:
-
International supplier or manufacturing delays;
-
Freight or courier disruptions;
-
Customs inspections and clearance delays;
-
Port congestion;
-
Strikes or industrial action;
-
Severe weather or natural disasters;
-
Changes to import or regulatory requirements;
-
Transport interruptions;
-
Power, telecommunications or system failures;
-
Civil unrest, war or government action; and
-
Other unforeseen supply-chain disruptions.
Little Bees will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of the delay, keep affected customers informed and complete the order as soon as reasonably possible.
To the extent permitted by law, Little Bees will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting solely from events outside our reasonable control.
This provision does not remove any right the customer may have to cancel an order or receive another remedy where delivery cannot take place within the agreed or a reasonable period.
Further information regarding delivery delays is contained in our Shipping Policy.
13. Order Cancellations
Customers who wish to request cancellation of an order must contact Little Bees as soon as possible.
Little Bees does not guarantee that an order can be cancelled after it has been placed, particularly once it has been processed, committed to a supplier or dispatched.
Any approved voluntary cancellation may be subject to reasonable costs already incurred by Little Bees, to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory cancellation or cooling-off rights available to the customer.
Order cancellations, returns and refunds are governed by our Return and Refund Policy.
14. Returns, Refunds and Statutory Rights
Little Bees does not offer voluntary change-of-mind returns, refunds or exchanges.
This does not limit a customer’s right to cancel an eligible electronic transaction during an applicable statutory cooling-off period.
Qualifying defective or unsafe products may be returned in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, including the applicable six-month statutory warranty. Where the Act applies, the customer may be entitled to choose a repair, replacement or refund.
Full information about return eligibility, the returns procedure and refunds is available in our Return and Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
15. Product Use and Safety
Customers must use products only for their intended purpose and in accordance with all instructions, labels, warnings and age recommendations supplied with the product.
Where a product is intended for use by or around children, appropriate adult supervision must be provided whenever required by the product instructions, warnings or nature of the product.
The customer is responsible for checking that a product is suitable for its intended user and purpose before use.
Little Bees will not be responsible for loss or damage resulting from misuse, improper assembly, unauthorised alteration, failure to follow instructions or use contrary to a clearly communicated warning, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Customers should stop using a product and contact Little Bees if they reasonably believe it is defective or unsafe.
16. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotions, competitions and discount codes may be subject to additional terms communicated at the time of the promotion.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
Discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
-
Only one discount code may be used per order;
-
A discount code must be used before its expiry date;
-
Discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively;
-
Promotions are subject to availability; and
-
Little Bees may withdraw a promotion where there is an obvious error, fraud or misuse.
Little Bees will not administer promotions in a misleading or unfair manner.
17. Website Availability
Little Bees aims to keep the Website secure and available, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
We may temporarily suspend or restrict the Website for maintenance, security, technical updates or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Little Bees will not be responsible for temporary Website unavailability where we have taken reasonable steps to maintain and restore the service, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Third-Party Services and Links
The Website may contain links to third-party websites or use services provided by payment processors, couriers, hosting providers and other independent service providers.
Little Bees does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their separate content, availability, security or privacy practices.
A link to another website does not necessarily mean that Little Bees endorses that website or its products and services.
Nothing in this section removes any responsibility Little Bees has for third parties acting on its behalf where liability is imposed by law.
19. Intellectual Property
All Website content, including the Little Bees name, branding, logos, graphics, photographs, text, layout and original product content, is owned by or licensed to Little Bees and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may view and use the Website for personal, non-commercial shopping purposes.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, sell, commercially exploit or create derivative works from Website content without prior written permission from Little Bees or the relevant rights holder.
Third-party product names, trademarks and images remain the property of their respective owners.
20. Customer Reviews and Submitted Content
If customers are permitted to submit reviews, photographs, comments or other content, they must ensure that the content:
-
Is accurate and based on a genuine experience;
-
Does not infringe another person’s rights;
-
Is not unlawful, defamatory, threatening or discriminatory;
-
Does not contain malicious code or deceptive links; and
-
Does not disclose another person’s private information without permission.
The customer retains ownership of their content but grants Little Bees a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to display and use it for operating and promoting the business, unless otherwise agreed.
Little Bees may moderate or remove unlawful, fraudulent, irrelevant or abusive content. We will not remove a genuine negative review merely because it is critical of Little Bees.
21. Privacy and Personal Information
Little Bees processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and our Privacy Policy.
Personal information may be shared with service providers where reasonably necessary to process payments, fulfil orders, arrange delivery, prevent fraud, provide customer support or comply with legal obligations.
Please review our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for further information.
22. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
IMPORTANT: This section limits certain liabilities of Little Bees. It must be read together with the remainder of these Terms and applicable South African law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Little Bees will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable and that arise from:
-
Improper or unintended use of a product;
-
Failure to follow product instructions or warnings;
-
Unauthorised alterations or repairs;
-
Inaccurate information provided by the customer;
-
Website interruption outside our reasonable control; or
-
Delays caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Little Bees does not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability arising from gross negligence or any liability, warranty, right or remedy that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act or another applicable law.
Where liability may lawfully be limited, Little Bees’ liability will be limited to the amount reasonably connected to the affected order or loss.
23. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Little Bees against third-party claims resulting directly from:
-
Your unlawful use of the Website;
-
Fraudulent activity committed through your account;
-
Your material breach of these Terms;
-
Your infringement of another person’s intellectual-property rights; or
-
Content unlawfully submitted by you.
This provision does not require a customer to indemnify Little Bees for Little Bees’ own negligence, unlawful conduct or breach of statutory duties.
24. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
Customers should first contact Little Bees so that we have a reasonable opportunity to resolve a complaint.
Please provide your order number, contact information and a clear description of the issue.
Little Bees will acknowledge and address complaints within a reasonable period.
If a complaint cannot be resolved directly, the customer may exercise any right to approach an applicable consumer-protection body, ombud, tribunal or court.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent legal relief where appropriate.
25. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and all transactions conducted through the Website are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Subject to any right a consumer may have to approach another competent forum, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
26. Changes to These Terms
Little Bees may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Website, business operations or applicable law.
The updated version will be published on the Website with a revised “last updated” date.
Changes will apply from the date of publication and will not retrospectively alter the terms of an order already accepted unless required by law or agreed with the customer.
Customers should review these Terms periodically.
27. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be applied or limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
28. No Waiver
If Little Bees does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not mean that Little Bees has waived the right to enforce it later.
Any waiver must be confirmed by Little Bees in writing.
29. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the policies expressly incorporated into them and the information confirmed during checkout, constitute the agreement between Little Bees and the customer regarding use of the Website and the relevant purchase.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and a mandatory provision of South African law, the mandatory legal provision will apply.
