This Privacy Policy explains how LITTLE BEES (PTY) LTD, registration number 2026/731859/07, collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when customers visit littlebees.co.za, place an order or communicate with us.

Little Bees is committed to processing personal information lawfully and responsibly in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and other applicable South African laws.

Payment information

Payments are processed using Yoco.

Little Bees may receive transaction details such as the payment status, amount, date and transaction reference. Complete card information is generally submitted directly to the payment provider and is not ordinarily stored by Little Bees.

Yoco processes payment information according to its own privacy and security terms.

Website and device information

When you visit the Website, Shopify and other authorised technologies may collect:

  • Device identifiers;

  • Products viewed;

Where processing is based on consent, the customer may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal will not affect processing that occurred lawfully before consent was withdrawn.

6. Sharing Personal Information

Little Bees may share personal information with service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the business, including:

  • Shopify, which hosts and supports the online store;

  • Yoco, which processes customer payments;

  • Aramex, which delivers customer orders;

  • Meta, where Meta Pixel or advertising services are used;

  • Website hosting, technical-support and security providers;

  • Accountants, auditors, insurers and professional advisers;

  • Fraud-prevention and payment-verification providers; and

  • Regulators, law-enforcement agencies or courts where required by law.

Service providers may process personal information only for authorised purposes and under their applicable legal and contractual obligations.

Little Bees does not sell personal information for money.

7. Shopify

The Website is hosted on Shopify.

Shopify may process information about customers’ devices, browsing activity, account details, cart activity, orders and payments to provide its e-commerce services.

Shopify may act as an operator on behalf of Little Bees for certain processing activities and may also process information under its own terms and privacy policy when customers use Shopify services such as Shop or Shop Pay.

8. Yoco

Little Bees uses Yoco to process payments.

When a customer makes a payment, relevant payment and transaction information is provided directly to Yoco. Yoco may process this information to:

  • Authorise and process the payment;

  • Prevent fraud;

  • Maintain transaction records;

  • Manage chargebacks or disputes; and

  • Comply with legal obligations.

Little Bees does not control Yoco’s independent processing practices. Customers should review Yoco’s privacy policy before submitting payment information.

9. Meta Pixel and Advertising

Little Bees may use Meta Pixel and related Meta advertising services.

Meta Pixel helps us understand whether customers interact with our advertisements and what actions they take on the Website.

Meta may combine information received through the Pixel with information it already holds about users of Facebook, Instagram and other Meta services, in accordance with Meta’s own privacy terms.

Where legally required, Meta Pixel and other non-essential advertising technologies will only be activated after the customer provides the relevant cookie consent.

Customers may withdraw or change their cookie choices through the Website’s cookie settings and may also manage advertising preferences through their Meta account.

10. Direct Marketing

Little Bees will send direct electronic marketing only where permitted by law.

Where consent is required, customers will be given the opportunity to consent before marketing messages are sent.

Customers may unsubscribe at any time by:

  • Using the unsubscribe option included in the communication; or

  • Contacting Little Bees using the details in this policy.

We may still send non-marketing communications that are necessary to process an order, arrange delivery, respond to an enquiry or provide important service information.

Shopify, Meta and other service providers may process or store personal information outside South Africa.

Little Bees will take reasonable steps to ensure that cross-border transfers comply with section 72 of POPIA, including by using appropriate service providers, contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.

The privacy and data-protection laws in another country may differ from those in South Africa.

13. Information Security

Little Bees will take appropriate and reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against:

  • Loss or destruction;

  • Unauthorised access;

  • Unlawful processing;

  • Accidental alteration;

  • Misuse; and

  • Unauthorised disclosure.

These measures may include controlled access, passwords, secure Website connections, reputable service providers and appropriate internal procedures.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. Little Bees cannot guarantee absolute security but will take reasonable steps required by law.

Where Little Bees has reasonable grounds to believe that personal information has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will follow the notification requirements under POPIA.

  • Review a decision based solely on automated processing where applicable.

Little Bees may require reasonable proof of identity before responding to a request.

Some information cannot be deleted immediately where Little Bees must retain it for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.

16. Children’s Personal Information

The Website is intended for use by adults who are legally capable of placing orders.

Little Bees does not knowingly request that children submit orders or payment information independently.

Where personal information relating to a child is provided, the person providing it confirms that they are authorised to do so as the child’s parent, guardian or other competent person, where required by law.
